Shuttlers limber up for Yonex Sunrise VV Open Badminton Champs
 

The Yonex Sunrise Viet Nam Open Badminton Championship 2007 will be held from November 6 to 11 in Ha Noi’s Quan Ngua Sports Palace.

The tournament, valued at US$50,000, will attract 198 athletes from 19 countries and territories. They will compete in five events including men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Last year’s event worth $30,000 drew only 122 athletes.

Viet Nam, as the host of the event, will send 47 athletes to compete. They are the nation’s leading players, including national men’s number one and world 40th seed Nguyen Tien Minh and runners-up Nguyen Quang Minh and Nguyen Thanh Hai. Le Ngoc Nguyen Nhung, world 91st seed, who is training in Germany, will not partake in this event.

Fans can buy tickets at Quan Ngua Sports Palace from next Monday.
